Pointe du Raz, an outstanding natural site

Set off for Cap Sizun and the end of the world !
Located at the extreme western tip of southern Brittany, the wild and windy Pointe du Raz offers the most breathtaking landscapes. Often compared to Land’s End in southern England, this authentic Breton promontory that extends into the Iroise sea has been awarded the Grand Site de France label.

When you get to this impressive site and look out over the horizon, the stunning view will simply take your breath away.

The Phare de la Vieille and Phare de Trevennec lighthouses stand proudly facing the Pointe in the middle of the strong current. Slightly further out to sea you can see the small Ile de Sein and its lighthouse.

From the tip of Pointe du Raz where the statue of Notre Dame des Trépassés and semaphore stand, you can see the magnificent cliffs which encircle the Baie des Trépassés (bay of the dead) and Pointe du Van on one side and the bay of Douarnenez and Cap de la Chèvre on the other.

To see more of this beautiful site, take the marked footpath which takes you round the coast. It offers the most incredible landscapes from a whole range of ever-changing angles.
