Located at the mouth of the river Aven in Névez, Port Manec’h is a small family-friendly coastal town popular with artists and aristocrats in the Belle Epoque era. The white bathing huts perched on St Nicolas beach and a few mansions in the town, now holiday homes or luxury hotels, are the only reminder of this era.
The little harbour with a marina for pleasure boats is simply irresistable and there are plenty of watersport activities to enjoy on the sea or river. Overlooked by the lighthouse, the GR34 long-distance footpath is the best place to admire the fabulous scenery and it also leads to other beaches in Névez.
St Nicolas beach, opposite the jetty, is a rather unusual beach which leaves behind little rocky islets at low tide.
